What is up with the church calendar?

The ELCA church calendar is two weeks ahead of the LCMS church calendar this year. And why is this? The LCMS is following the correct calendar, but why isn't the ELCA? For example:

*The LCMS is following the correct Proper of the Day, why isn't the ELCA? The ELCA used to. Why do they want to be different now?
